Custom knowledge

Custom knowledge is for reference material that doesn’t belong in a connected system — a policy PDF, an internal FAQ, a one-off document — that you want the agent to search and cite. Prefer an Integration when the content already lives in a system Cobalt can connect to (a knowledge base, a file store): an integration keeps the agent in sync with the source automatically. Use custom knowledge for the genuine one-offs. This page will cover:
  • Creating collections and uploading documents (PDF, CSV).
  • How uploaded content is indexed and cited in conversations.
  • Custom knowledge versus content indexed from an integration, and when to use each.
